Front entrance door manufacturers

When sourcing front entrance doors, material selection directly impacts longevity and security. Solid wood (such as Oak, Walnut, or Mahogany) offers premium aesthetics but requires kiln-drying to prevent warping. For high-traffic or extreme weather areas, Steel-Wood composite or Aluminum alloy doors are preferred due to their anti-corrosion properties and structural stability. Ensure the core is filled with high-density fireproof rock wool or honeycomb paper for enhanced sound insulation and thermal resistance.

Security is the primary function of an entrance door. Buyers must ensure products meet EN 1627 (RC2 to RC4 levels) for burglar resistance or UL 10C for fire-rated requirements in the US market. For smart doors, verify CE or FCC certifications for electronic components. Always request Grade 3 or higher security lock cylinders and check if the hinges are anti-pry reinforced to meet international safety benchmarks.

To prevent fading and peeling, the door surface should undergo fluorocarbon spraying or electrostatic powder coating, especially for outdoor exposure. For wooden doors, a UV-resistant topcoat is essential. Ensure the door includes EPDM weather-stripping around the frame to guarantee a waterproof rating of Class 3 or higher and to minimize air leakage, which is critical for energy-efficient building projects.

A top-tier supplier on Made-in-China.com should offer OEM/ODM services, including CAD drawing support for non-standard sizes. Key customization points include threshold design (ADA compliant for commercial use), glass inserts (must be tempered double-pane glass), and integration with smart home systems (Zigbee, Bluetooth, or Biometric recognition).

Entrance doors are heavy and prone to corner damage. Insist on Five-layer corrugated boxes with EPE foam edge protectors and vacuum plastic film. For LCL (Less than Container Load) shipments, wooden crate packaging is mandatory to prevent compression. Always include moisture-absorbent desiccant bags inside the packaging to prevent mold on wooden components during long sea voyages.

Focus on the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price. Negotiate for spare parts (such as extra handles, hinges, and seal strips) to be included at no cost, typically 2-3% of the order volume. For large projects, request a staged payment plan (e.g., 30% deposit, 60% after QC inspection, 10% after bill of lading) to maintain leverage over quality control.

Utilize the Secured Trading services provided by Made-in-China.com to protect your funds. Before final payment, hire a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a Drop Test and a Dimensional Accuracy Check. Ensure the supplier provides a Certificate of Origin to help you benefit from preferential tariff rates under specific trade agreements.

Entrance doors are classified under HS Code 441820 (Wood) or 730830 (Iron/Steel). Be aware of anti-dumping duties that some regions (like the EU or USA) may impose on specific metal products. Work with a freight forwarder experienced in Oversized Cargo to handle the inland delivery, as residential delivery of heavy doors often requires lift-gate services.
