Glass crystal swan manufacturers

When sourcing, distinguish between K9 crystal (optical glass) and ordinary soda-lime glass. K9 crystal is preferred for B2B resale due to its high refractive index and superior clarity. Ensure the product is free of bubbles, scratches, or inclusions. For high-end markets, verify the lead content; while 'lead-free' is trending for safety, traditional full lead crystal (over 24% PbO) provides the iconic 'sparkle' and weight sought by collectors.

Prioritize suppliers using hand-polishing techniques over simple mold-pressing, as hand-polishing ensures sharp, clean facets that reflect light better. For colored swans, confirm if the color is solid glass (color-in-melt) or a surface coating; solid glass is far superior as it will not fade or peel over time. Check the seamlessness of the neck-to-body attachment, as this is a common structural weak point.

Ensure products comply with California Proposition 65 if exporting to the US, particularly regarding lead and cadmium levels. For the EU market, products should meet REACH regulations. Since these are fragile items, request ISTA 3A or 6-Amazon.com drop test certification for the packaging to ensure the product survives international transit without breakage.

Look for suppliers offering laser inner-carving (3D laser) or sandblasting/etching for logos and personalized messages. High-margin opportunities exist in customized gift box packaging, such as silk-lined hardboard boxes with magnetic closures. Verify if the supplier can provide custom Pantone-matched bases or LED light pedestals to enhance the display value.

Fragility is the primary risk. Insist on custom-fit EPE foam or EVA foam inserts rather than bubble wrap. Specify double-walled corrugated outer cartons and ensure the 'Fragile' and 'This Side Up' labels are printed in both English and the destination language. For large orders, palletizing the shipment significantly reduces manual handling damage.

Focus on sample-to-bulk consistency. Negotiate a contract clause that specifies the allowable bubble count and size (e.g., no bubbles larger than 0.5mm). Request a tiered pricing structure where the unit price drops by 10-15% when moving from 500 to 2,000 units, and ask for the sample fee to be credited toward the final bulk order.

Utilize Secured Trading services on Made-in-China.com to protect your payment until delivery. Always hire a third-party inspection agency (like V-Trust or SGS) to perform a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI). The inspector should focus on weight consistency, facet symmetry, and adhesive residue at the joints, which are common quality issues in mass production.

Check the HS Code (typically 7013.91 or 7013.99) for specific import duties in your country. Be aware of anti-dumping duties that some regions apply to glassware from specific origins. Ensure the Certificate of Origin is provided to take advantage of any applicable Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) that could reduce your tax burden.
