Stainless steel cleaning scourer manufacturers

The most critical factor is the grade of stainless steel. For high-end B2B applications, AISI 410 or 430 is standard for general cleaning, while AISI 304 is preferred for food-grade environments due to its superior corrosion resistance. Ensure the wire is continuous and spiral-wound to prevent shedding, which can lead to physical contamination in commercial kitchens.

Request samples to test the tensile strength and elasticity. A high-quality scourer should spring back to its original shape after compression. Additionally, check the weight per unit (e.g., 20g, 40g, or 80g); heavier scourers generally offer a longer service life and better scrubbing power for heavy-duty industrial cleaning.

For the US market, ensure the product is BPA-free and meets FDA food contact surface safety guidelines if used in kitchens. For the EU, compliance with REACH regulations regarding chemical content in metals is essential. Always ask for a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) to verify the alloy composition and ensure there are no harmful heavy metal residues.

Standard stainless steel scourers are ideal for cast iron pans, grill grates, and industrial machinery. However, for delicate surfaces like non-stick coatings or polished steel, you should source galvanized mesh or copper-coated scourers which are less abrasive. For the medical or laboratory sector, sterilizable 316-grade steel options are recommended.

Perform a salt spray test during the pre-shipment inspection to verify rust resistance. Use Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services to ensure payment is only released after a third-party inspection (such as SGS or Intertek) confirms the material grade matches the contract specifications.

Since stainless steel is a commodity, prices fluctuate with raw material market rates. Negotiate based on weight-to-price ratios rather than just unit price. For orders exceeding 50,000 units, seek a volume discount of 10-15% and request customized retail packaging (OEM) to be included in the FOB price.

Stainless steel scourers are high-density but susceptible to moisture damage during sea transit. Ensure the supplier uses desiccant packs in every master carton and utilizes double-walled corrugated boxes to prevent the heavy weight from collapsing the packaging during stacking in the container.

Verify the correct HS Code (typically 7323.10) to determine accurate import duties. Be aware of anti-dumping duties that some regions (like the EU or USA) may apply to specific steel products from certain origins. Always request a Certificate of Origin to facilitate smoother customs clearance and potential tariff preferences.
