Custom domino manufacturers

Custom dominoes are primarily manufactured from Urea-Formaldehyde (UF) resin, Acrylic, or Wood. Urea resin is the industry standard for professional sets because it provides a high-density, stone-like feel and a satisfying 'clack' sound. Acrylic offers superior transparency and modern aesthetics, while Wood (such as Beech or Pine) is preferred for eco-friendly or educational toys. Ensure the material is non-toxic and BPA-free to meet international safety standards.

For the back design or logo, you can choose between Silk-screen printing, Heat transfer printing, or Engraving (Laser or Molded). Engraved logos with color filling are the most durable as they do not fade with frequent handling. For the pips (dots), ensure they are deeply recessed and uniformly painted to prevent wear over time. Full-bleed UV printing is recommended for complex, multi-color photographic designs.

Standard sizes include Professional (approx. 50 x 25 x 10mm), Jumbo (54 x 28 x 12mm), and Tournament (55 x 27 x 13mm). A key quality indicator is the uniformity of weight; professional sets should have a weight variance of less than 1% between tiles to ensure fair play. Heavier tiles generally indicate higher resin purity and better durability.

For the US market, products must comply with ASTM F963 and CPSIA (lead and phthalate limits). For the EU, EN71 Parts 1, 2, and 3 certification is mandatory to ensure mechanical safety and chemical non-toxicity. If the set includes a wooden box, ensure the supplier provides FSC certification for sustainable sourcing and Phytosanitary certificates if required by your local customs.

The biggest risk in domino production is minor surface imperfections (scratches or specks) that allow players to identify tiles from the back. You should mandate a 100% visual inspection of the tile backs. Use Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading Service to hold payment until a third-party inspection (like V-Trust or QIMA) confirms that the tiles are indistinguishable from the rear.

Focus on the mold fee and MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity). If you have a unique shape, ask if the supplier can amortize the mold cost over a certain volume of orders. For standard shapes with custom printing, aim for an MOQ of 500-1000 sets to get factory-direct pricing. Always request a pre-production sample (PPS) to verify color accuracy before the full run begins.

Dominoes are high-density and heavy, which can lead to high air freight costs. Sea freight (LCL) is the most economical for orders over 200kg. Ensure the packaging includes reinforced inner boxes and shrink-wrapping to prevent the heavy tiles from breaking through the cartons during transit. Request double-walled corrugated export cartons (K=K) for maximum protection.

Always verify the supplier's Business License and Export License on Made-in-China.com. Prioritize Audited Suppliers who have undergone on-site fabric inspections. Use Escrow-based payment terms where possible, and never wire full payments to private bank accounts; always use the official corporate account listed on the platform profile.
