Cutlery tray manufacturers

Buyers should choose between Food-Grade PP (Polypropylene) for cost-effectiveness, Natural Bamboo for eco-friendly appeal, or Stainless Steel for high-end durability. Ensure all plastic options are BPA-free and bamboo products are treated with food-safe, moisture-resistant coatings to prevent mold growth in humid kitchen environments.

Prioritize expandable or adjustable designs that can fit various drawer dimensions, as this increases market versatility. Look for non-slip rubber feet to prevent sliding and silicone-lined compartments to protect delicate silverware from scratches. For high-end markets, verify if the tray includes tiered stacking features to maximize vertical space.

Since these products come into contact with food utensils, they must meet FDA (US) or LFGB (EU) food contact safety standards. For bamboo or wooden trays, ensure the supplier provides a Phytosanitary Certificate and complies with FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification if sustainability is a brand requirement.

Focus on edge smoothness to ensure there are no burrs or sharp plastic flashes that could injure users. For bamboo trays, check for structural integrity at the joints (dovetail or reinforced glue) and perform a moisture content test (ideally 8-12%) to prevent cracking during cross-border transit through different climates.

Cutlery trays are often 'light cargo' that occupies significant volume. To optimize costs, negotiate nested packaging where smaller units are packed inside larger ones. Use Made-in-China.com's secured logistics services to ensure proper palletization, which prevents the cracking of plastic trays under pressure during sea freight.

Request a tiered pricing structure based on volume; typically, a 10-15% discount is achievable when moving from LCL (Less than Container Load) to a Full 20GP Container. Ask for OEM customization (such as logo engraving on bamboo) to be included in the unit price for orders exceeding 1,000 pieces.

Always utilize Escrow-based payment terms or Trade Assurance through reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com. Never wire full payments upfront; a standard 30% deposit and 70% balance against the Bill of Lading (B/L) after a successful third-party pre-shipment inspection is the industry benchmark for safety.

Check the specific HS Code (typically 392410 for plastic or 441911 for bamboo) to determine import duties in your country. Be aware of anti-dumping duties that some regions apply to specific materials. Ensure the supplier provides a Certificate of Origin (CO) to help you benefit from preferential tariff rates under Free Trade Agreements.
