Date palm bag manufacturers

Buyers should prioritize High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) with integrated UV stabilizers, as these bags are exposed to intense sunlight for long durations. The mesh size must be precise—typically 1mm to 1.5mm—to provide a barrier against pests like the Greater Date Moth while ensuring optimal ventilation to prevent fungal growth and moisture accumulation.

Verify that the supplier complies with ISO 9001 for quality management and provides food-grade certification if the bags come into direct contact with the fruit. For European markets, ensure the materials meet REACH regulations, and for the US, check for FDA-compliant polymer additives to ensure no toxic leaching occurs during high-temperature exposure.

Look for bags with reinforced drawstrings (nylon or PP) at both ends to facilitate easy installation and harvesting. The inclusion of side zippers can significantly reduce labor costs by allowing quick inspections without removing the entire bag. Additionally, ensure the tensile strength is sufficient to support the weight of a full date cluster, which can reach 10-15kg.

Conduct a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis. While standard mesh bags are cheaper, multi-season reusable bags (lasting 3-5 years) often provide better ROI than single-use versions. Request weathering test reports (e.g., 500-1000 hours of UV exposure) to confirm the product won't degrade prematurely in desert climates.

The biggest risk is material substitution, where suppliers use recycled plastic instead of virgin HDPE, leading to premature UV degradation and crop loss. To mitigate this, use Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services and insist on a pre-shipment inspection (PSI) to verify the GSM (grams per square meter) and mesh density.

Focus on tiered pricing; for orders exceeding 50,000 units, you should aim for a 15-20% discount off the sample price. Negotiate for customized dimensions at no extra cost and request a 2% defect allowance (extra units) to cover potential shipping damage or manufacturing flaws.

Since Date Palm Bags are lightweight but bulky, they are best shipped via Sea Freight (FCL - Full Container Load) to minimize the cost per unit. Ensure the supplier uses vacuum compression packing to maximize container utilization. For urgent seasonal needs, LCL (Less than Container Load) is viable, but ensure the goods are palletized to prevent snagging during transit.

Always verify the supplier's Business License and Export Qualification on the platform. Use Escrow-based payment systems where funds are only released upon confirmation of the Bill of Lading (B/L). Avoid direct wire transfers to private accounts; always pay to the verified corporate account listed on the official proforma invoice.
