Toll system manufacturers

A robust toll system must integrate RFID/DSRC readers, Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras, and vehicle classification sensors. Ensure the ANPR cameras have a recognition accuracy of ≥99% even in low-light or high-speed conditions (up to 160km/h). The backend software should support real-time data synchronization and be compatible with various payment gateways to ensure seamless transaction processing.

For global markets, equipment must meet CE (Europe) or FCC (US) standards for electromagnetic compatibility. Specifically for ETC, look for compliance with ISO 14816 (Numbering and data structures) and ISO 15693/18000-6C for RFID protocols. If the system is for outdoor use, an IP66 or IP67 waterproof and dustproof rating is essential to ensure longevity in harsh weather conditions.

Prioritize suppliers who offer Open API architectures and support standard protocols like TCP/IP and RS485. This allows the toll system to integrate with existing ERP software, traffic management systems, and national banking networks. Request documentation on SDK availability to ensure your local technical team can customize the software interface and reporting modules as needed.

The Automatic Vehicle Classification (AVC) system should utilize laser curtain sensors or piezoelectric sensors to achieve a classification accuracy of over 98%. For physical barriers, the opening/closing speed should be adjustable (typically 0.6s to 3s), and the motor should be rated for at least 5 million cycles (MTBF) to minimize maintenance downtime in high-traffic lanes.

The main risks include technical incompatibility with local frequency bands (e.g., 5.8GHz vs 915MHz for RFID) and damage during transit. To mitigate this, use Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services to ensure payment is only released after quality verification. Always insist on professional export packaging (vacuum-sealed anti-static bags and reinforced wooden crates) to protect sensitive circuit boards from moisture and vibration.

Negotiate for a minimum 2-year hardware warranty and at least 5 years of remote technical support. Since tolling software requires periodic security patches, ensure the contract includes free lifetime firmware updates. For large-scale projects, request the supplier to provide 1-2% of critical spare parts (such as controller boards and power modules) upfront to avoid operational halts during shipping delays.

Toll systems often involve bulky items like barrier arms and gantry structures. Use FOB (Free On Board) terms to maintain control over freight costs and choose a forwarder experienced in handling sensitive electronics. Ensure the supplier provides a detailed HS Code classification (typically under Chapter 85 or 86) to avoid customs delays and accurately calculate import duties in your destination country.

Avoid direct wire transfers to unverified accounts. Utilize the Audit Reports and Verified Supplier status on Made-in-China.com to vet the manufacturer's factory capacity. For the payment structure, a 30% deposit and 70% balance against the Bill of Lading (B/L) or after a successful third-party pre-shipment inspection is the industry standard for securing buyer interests.
